Conference Proceedings

We are planning to accompany the #SocialCapital2027 conference with official Conference Proceedings, to be published by Heriot-Watt University.

This initiative is currently in the planning stage and its realisation will depend on two key factors: sufficient interest from authors wishing to contribute, and the availability of enough qualified reviewers to uphold a rigorous peer-review process. Should both conditions be met, all submitted papers would undergo peer review and would additionally receive editorial revision to ensure the highest academic standards.

How it would work:

• Before the conference: Authors are only required to submit an abstract for inclusion in the conference programme. No full paper is needed at this stage.
• After the conference (optional): Authors who choose to contribute to the proceedings would have three months to develop their talk into a full paper. This extended timeframe is intended to allow presenters to incorporate feedback and discussion from the conference into their final manuscript.
• If you prefer not to submit: That is perfectly fine. Your presentation at the conference stands on its own, and there is no obligation whatsoever to produce a written paper.
• Timeline: If the proceedings go ahead, publication is currently expected in October or November 2027. Please note that this is a provisional target and may be subject to change.
